Running ErsatzTV

The easiest way to run ErsatzTV is with Docker:

Would be nice to have the ability to select subtitles to include with media. Lots of combinations here that will complicate things - local media source vs external media server, embedded subtitles vs external subtitles, MPEG-TS vs HLS, etc.

Unable to use Nvidia Hardware Encoding

Trying to run the nvidia docker image and I am unable to get the cuda encoder working. I see this message in the logs: Error detecting NVIDIA GPU capabilities; some hardware accelerated features will be unavailable: 1

Does not play next episode in JF/Emby

I have this running in both Jellyfin and Emby but as soon as one episode ends it just stays black and doesnt progress to the next episode.

is there a delay between it? I have waited but never gotten it to play again, i back out and start the stream and it plays.

Any help would be appreciated.

my library is large and I get through about 200 items in it but there are about 800 more I am trying a local library sync instead of plex and see if that works better but it seems like from this we are timing out. there are no other errors in the log

Playout build looping forever on startup; libraries never unlocking

Hi there, all my local libraries are stuck as locked (for hours and no new content has been added to them) So unable to edit any of them or refresh them https://github.com/jasongdove/ErsatzTV/blob/main/ErsatzTV/Pages/Libraries.razor#L42 (stuck on the loading spinner). It may be something's set wrong in the DB as it's every single local library (remote libraries are fine). Any pointers to help get them unlocked would be appreciated (if there's a bug, point me in the right direction and I'll see if I can create the PR myself).

JWT Auth

This adds the ability to implement JTW tokens into the URLs of the streams.

Because the implementation of JWT tokens also utilizes the AddAuthentication middleware (I think I used that term correctly), you cannot enable JWT without also configuring OIDC. However, I did implement it in such a way that you can use OIDC without having to use JWT.

To setup, add the following to your appsettings.json

  }

Now, use a JWT token issuer to create access tokens. I have been using http://jwtbuilder.jamiekurtz.com/ to test. But you can use whatever you want.

Once you have a valid token issued with your signing key, you can access the streams with the following URL...

https://[ersatz URL]/iptv/channels.m3u?access_token=[your newly issued token]

This is admittedly not an extremely secure way of locking down the connection, as the access token is visible in the URL. But, as many applications simply do not have the ability to specify authentication, this is the next best option.

Thanks for this great application.

Kodi has a plugin for HLS streams in m3us called InputStream Adaptive. According to https://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=366536, the m3u would need some additional lines to get it working. #KODIPROP:inputstream=inputstream.adaptive #KODIPROP:inputstream.adaptive.manifest_type=hls Would it be possible to add this feature?

EPG XML has overlapping times for shows

I have several schedules where there is only one item in the list. It is configured to play a random episode from a show for a duration of 1 hour, with tail and fallback fillers at the ending (the shows are roughly 42 minutes long). When viewing the playout from the website, it's fine (there's one episode listed per hour, starting at the top of every hour). However, the XMLTV listing is messed up. Specifically, it lists overlapping start and end times for the shows. This results in Tivimate (for example) not showing every other episode.

I'm guessing something in the XMLTV generation is getting confused with the previous episode's filler start times and the new episode's start times. Can this be fixed?

[Feature-Request] - Marathon Playout

The idea being that I add shows to a collection and each show is played in its entirety before moving to the next show. A variation could be, a season of each show is played before a second season of the first show is played. ie. Marathon by show and marathon by Season.

I guess the same could be done for movie sets/collections and albums in music

A handful of settings would help
